Some tips to reduce mouth ulcers

During radiation therapy especially to head and neck there is damage caused to mucosal lining of the mouth especially causing pain and prone to infection.
- Eat soft foods which are easily palatable and requires less chewing.
- Avoid foods that irritate the mucosal lining especially hot and spicy foods.
- Avoid rough, coarse or dry food which may cause damage to mucosal lining while consuming.
- if possible blender can be used to make it puree.
- Eat food at room temperatures.
- Use of local anesthetics as per physicians advice.
